As a pet sitter and dog walker, winter is a royal pain in the you-know-what. This winter especially. I don’t mind the cold all that much, and will take it over the summer heat and humidity any day. But driving in the snow, and worse – the ice – is not my cup of tea. And walking dogs on ice is a prescription for injury to both two-legged and four-legged participants.

So winter is not my favorite season. But one of our dogs, Butterscotch, loves the winter. She has a super thick coat of some northern dog breed, and the colder the better from her perspective. She loves nothing more than to sit on the walk and survey her icy kingdom, or bark at it, as appropriate.

Even though winter isn’t my favorite season I have to admit that it can be quite beautiful. I usually photograph animals, and Butterscotch got a token shot in today’s blog, but Mother Nature is taking top billing these days. Hope you don’t mind a little off-topic post!

    1. It wasn’t as bad as it looked – we were colder a couple weeks ago. But I will be happy to see Spring!
