Weekly Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds

Black cat behind tree

This week’s photo challenge asks for a photo that obeys the Rule of Thirds – the subject off-center – and to experiment with bokeh, or blank space. This photo of a community cat, checking me out from the safe area behind a tree, seemed to fit the bill. Besides, it does my soul good to see green in the midst of sub-zero temps!

  1. I love this! Beautiful photo, beautiful kitty. 🙂

One thing I love is that this is such a richly colored and beautiful photo, and you can clearly see the ear-tip. Not that I don’t have issues with ear-tipping, I do, but I don’t know of a better way yet.

    1. I’m with you on the ear tipping – and participate in a TNR program in my area. Best way to help the outdoor kitties.
