As happens in our lives from time to time, I have made some changes for 2019.  My pet sitting business has been a 7 day-a-week job for 12 years, and the feral cat program has also been the same  seven days a week for the last six years, and I am tired. In my 60’s now, the schedule has just been too much for too long.

I can’t quit working just yet, so I am scaling back on my involvement with the cat program for a bit. Not leaving…I couldn’t bear that. But next year I will be working on marketing and fund raising, which is not an everyday job, and I hope to be able to foster some cats and help out in other ways as well. I have been a part of this program since its inception and it is dear to my heart, but I also have to take care of some minor health issues, and I need a less crazy schedule to do that.

A large part of me feels like there is a huge hole in my life, and wants to fill it up. But I’m trying to resist that. What I did decide to do was to sign up for an online 365 photo challenge…one photo a day for a year. I’ve so rarely had time for my photography, much less learning more and developing my skills. Often I feel overwhelmed by all the things to learn  – composition, Photoshop, my camera itself, and so much more, that I don’t even tackle anything. So a photo a day will get me out doing SOMETHING each day, and looking at the work of others and reading comments will help me grow and improve.

This last year there hasn’t been much time for my blog either, and I want to step that up in 2019. I’m not going to subject you to all the photos for a year, but I’ll show you my one for today and tomorrow for now, and bring you ones I especially like here and there. Wish me luck and the ability to stick with this for a year!
